Woodlark Class Key Stage 3 Blog

Hi everyone. We are going to use our Blog spot to tell you about our new enterprise! We enjoyed the Swingate Lane Enterprise Project so much this term that we have branched out with a new project of our own.

Our Design Technology this term was investigating, testing and making pet treats.  We all have pets or know some pets, and so we thought we would check out what is popular and then make our own versions. Our first experiment was pumpkin and cheese biscuits for dogs.  We followed the recipe and sent our biscuits home for our dogs to try.  We were excited to get lots of feedback including photos and videos of everyone’s dogs enjoying them.  Some of the ingredients we used were grown on our very own balcony. We decided to upscale our project and make different treats for different animals to sell at our Winter Wonderland. We used our Dog Mentor, Milo as our logo.  We sold completely out of our Oat and Cheese biscuits and ‘Santa Paws’ made with Willow Dene honey. We made more than £100 by selling what we had made.  We tagged Pets at Home into our advertising Tweet. They didn’t reply, but one of our Mums said we shouldn’t give up ‘because you never know who is watching!’. So in our quest to go global, look out for our new range of pet toys coming in the spring term…
