Each year, we host our Trust ECT Welcome Day at Willow Dene, providing new teachers with the opportunity to be officially welcomed into the Trust, learn about the support and benefits of working at Compass Eko, gain an understanding of the ECT induction framework and programme, and build professional connections with colleagues from across the Trust.

A highlight of the day was hearing from our current ECTs, who shared their experiences, top tips and practical advice for a successful induction period. Their insights gave our new teachers valuable guidance as they prepare to begin their careers.

Starting the ECT journey at Willow Dene is a purposeful part of our enhanced Trust offer. The day enables ECTs to develop a deeper understanding of our ethos, values and commitment to inclusion. Participants toured the school, observed outstanding practice in action and explored the range of support available to help meet the needs of children with SEND in their own settings.

The day was a huge success, with fantastic engagement, enthusiasm and thoughtful reflection from our new teachers across the Trust. We look forward to supporting them as they begin their teaching careers and are proud to play a part in their professional journey.
