Year 14 Big Night Out

Year 14 recently enjoyed an exciting overnight trip to London, filled with fantastic experiences, delicious food and unforgettable memories.
The adventure began with a train journey to the capital, with the group opting to travel on the Elizabeth line so they could make the most of the air conditioning during what was an exceptionally hot day. After arriving in London, the group headed to McDonald's for lunch, giving young people the chance to relax, recharge and prepare for the afternoon's main event.
Excitement continued to build as everyone made their way to the Lyceum Theatre to watch Disney's The Lion King. The award-winning production certainly did not disappoint. Staff and young people alike were captivated by the stunning costumes, incredible puppetry and memorable musical performances. The spectacular show provided a truly unforgettable theatre experience and was a highlight of the trip for many.
Following the performance, the group enjoyed dinner at Pizza Hut, where everyone reflected on their favourite moments from the show while enjoying a well-earned meal together. After such a busy and exciting day, there were plenty of tired eyes, so it was time to begin the journey to the hotel.
The group checked into a hotel for their overnight stay. There was great excitement as everyone found their rooms and chose their beds for the night. After enjoying a cool shower and changing into their pyjamas, the young people were able to relax and enjoy some well-earned downtime. With temperatures remaining high throughout the evening, the hotel's air conditioning provided a welcome escape from the heat, helping everyone settle down for a comfortable night's sleep.
The following morning, staff and young people enjoyed a leisurely start to the day. After showering and getting dressed, they headed to the hotel's buffet breakfast, where there was a wide selection of food to choose from. The hearty breakfast helped everyone prepare for the journey home.
With bags packed and plenty of happy memories to take away, the group travelled back to school after what had been a thoroughly enjoyable and successful trip. The overnight visit gave young people the opportunity to experience London, enjoy a world-class theatre production and spend valuable time with friends, making it an adventure they are unlikely to forget.
Most importantly, thank you to our wonderful staff team who supported the trip and helped make the experience such a success. We would also like to thank our parents and families for the trust you place in us to care for your young people overnight and for giving them the opportunity to enjoy experiences like this. It was a truly memorable sleepover, and we are already looking forward to the next adventure!
